plz help with connecting my HDTV LCD to my pc as a monitor?

hey guys i have a 32inch LCD HDTV it's brand is LG it has opens for all kinds of cables like HDMI in , HDMI/DVI in, RGB (PC) in , Component in and AV in and out of course and i realy need to connect it to my pc as a monitor so could u plz tell me what do i need to do and if i need like some sort of converter not those big ones just a converter cable plz i need all kinds of details and i have a nvidia 6600 ge-force i don't know if it matters i wrote just it in case and thanx in advance

Actually, your nvidia 6600 does matter because it should provide a DVI port for video output.

To obtain the best picture quality, you should use the DVI output by using either a standard DVI cable if your TV has a DVI port. Otherwise, you can get a DVI-to-HDMI cable that will connect the DVI port of your computer to an HDMI port of your TV.

Using a VGA or s-video cable will degrade the picture quality.

BUY YOUR CABLE FROM EBAY, AMAZON, etc! Otherwise, you'll get ripped off buying it at a retail store.

A lot of technology is going into our televisions and computers nowadays, but what we do not know is that a lot of technology and innovation went into the leads, cables and plugs on those items.

USB cables, SCART leads, SCART cables and AVI cables are among those little things that are so vital to those devices and enable them to work.

SCART leads are widely used throughout Europe and are actually the most common connection between audio visual equipments. SCART cables and connectors first appeared on television sets at the end of the seventies and first became compulsory in France a couple of years later. A SCART lead has twenty one pins which actually help improve the quality of the connection and sound or image coming out of the device. You can even get SCART cables with gold plated plugs for better sound and image quality.

However, SCART leads can not carry S-video and RGB signals at the same time which can be a problem on some devices. On top of that, the loss of connection due to a loose connector is something very common mainly because the cable used is very thick and heavy.

Another very common item is the USB cable and its port. This device created in the middle of the nineties is also very common on games consoles, computers, mp3 players and other devices. The Universal Serial Bus (USB) was first made to answer the need of having more than one peripheral connected and disconnected quickly without having for example to reboot your computer or to turn off the device each time you wanted to connect or disconnect it. Whereas the first USB cables were introduced as USB 1.0 in the nineties, you can now find USB 3.0 which was released at the end of two thousand and eight with new specification that allow the user to have a transfer rate of nearly ten times faster than the USB 2.0 version, which is quite amazing.

There are so many different types of cables though and USB cables and SCART cables are probably among the most commonly used.

In the end, there is so much technology in our different devices that we even forget that even the connectors used to plug those devices together also are full of technology as well. It is also very easy to buy those kinds of cables and leads online or in shops.

Can i modify a DVI-I [dual] Male to make it a DVI-D [dual]?

I bought a VGA to DVI-I adapter because i wanted to connect my computer to my Samsung monitor using a standard VGA [Fem.] to VGA [Fem.].
Unfornately i found out that my Samsung monitor has a DVI-D [dual] input.

That will NEVER work.

You cannot connnect an ANALOG-ONLY video card VGA output to a DIGITAL-ONLY monitor DVI input.

Analog is NOT compatible with Digital. No matter what cable you use or what pins you break off on the cable.

You will get NO image if you attempt to connect a computer VGA port to a monitor DVI-D jack.

How much does it cost to have Time Warner add a cable for a modem to a different room?

I have a roadrunner and I want to have them add the roadrunner modem cable to my bedroom. How much should it cost on average to have them do that? I also have extenders going into my room from a tv cable, the same cable that goes into the modem. If I use that cable on the modem will it provide internet? Or are the two coaxial wires different?

So what you're saying is that you want to move your modem?
If that's the case, then you can simply buy a splitter and run coax from the splitter to the modem AND to your TV. The coax cable going to the modem is the exact same line that your cable TV is on.
